YOUR DATA.
NO NONSENSE.
This page explains the information Websites by Sam may receive when you use this website, run the free audit or send an enquiry.
What is
collected.
Enquiries
If you submit the contact form, the site receives the name, business/project name, email address, optional phone number, optional current website or social link, selected project type and message that you provide. That information is used to respond to your enquiry, understand the project and discuss a possible build.
Free website audit
The audit tool receives the public website URL you enter and requests that public page to perform lightweight technical checks. It is not designed to log into websites or inspect private areas. The scan result and submitted URL are not written to the lead log unless you choose to continue into an enquiry, although temporary server-side rate-limit data may be used to prevent abuse.
Technical information
The server may process routine technical information such as IP addresses, browser details and request logs for security, reliability and abuse prevention. The enquiry endpoint stores a one-way hash of the submitting IP address rather than the raw IP in its fallback lead record.
Sharing and sale of data
Websites by Sam does not sell enquiry information. Information may be processed by the hosting and email services needed to run the website and communicate with you.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not use advertising cookies, behavioural analytics or third-party tracking, and you do not need to accept any cookies to use the contact form or audit tool.
To understand which pages are useful, the site records cookie-free, aggregate traffic statistics on its own server: the page viewed, the referring website, campaign tags in the link you followed, your device class (phone, tablet or desktop) and events such as an enquiry being sent or the free audit being run. To count a visitor once per day, a one-way hash of your IP address and browser description is combined with a random key that changes daily and is then discarded; no persistent identifier is stored and nothing is shared with third parties. Browsers that send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal are not counted at all. If analytics or marketing technologies from other companies are added later, this notice and any required consent controls will be updated before they are enabled.
Retention and your rights
Enquiry information is kept only for as long as it is reasonably needed for communication, project administration, legitimate business records, legal obligations and security. UK data-protection law may give you rights over personal information held about you, including rights to request access, correction, erasure or restriction in applicable circumstances. Requests can be sent to the contact address below.
